Types of People That You Wouldn't Want to See in MRTs

Types of People That You Wouldn't Want to See in MRTs

As the title suggests, this post is all about the unpleasant people that one will not like to see at MRT train stations or in the MRTs. (Note: Everything here is based on my experience and my own thinking. I may be prejudiced and biased but yeah, since it's what I experienced, you still can choose to ignore this...)

A. People who spoke loudly on their phones
People who spoke loudly on their phones or communicate with others in a loud voice do piss me off, especially those whom voices that I can still hear clearly what they were saying even when I'm listening to music. These people seem that they do not care about the other passengers in the MRT that may be resting. Worse still, they do not cover their mouth when speaking on their phones.

B. People who cut nails
These type of people also angers me. The nail cutter makes a lot of noise when one cuts his nails. People who cut their nails in the MRTs seem like they were not considerate. What's more was that some of the people even 'sweep' the 'cut nails' on the floors! Not only had they litter in the train, but also being unhygienic.

C. People who lean against the poles
These type of people are simply inconsiderate too. They leaned their bodies on the poles and occupied the whole pole to themselves. What about the others who needed to hold on to the pole to maintain their balance? It was clear to me that they were not considerate enough.

D. People who rush in when the doors were about to close
These type of people don't really seem to care about their own safety. They dashed into the train when the doors are about to close. To those that managed to do that without getting injured, I'm still surprised at the fact that they can still laugh it off. I've witnessed those who really got caught by the doors. Luckily, the passengers in the train managed to pull them in so that they do not get 'crushed' by the doors.

SMRT now have to have their employees stationed at some of the doors at the platform to prevent passengers from dashing into the train. I've even seen people cursing at the employees who stopped them. I've always wondered this, why do they want to rush? I mean, safety comes first right? Don't they imagine the consequences and just take things for granted? Don't they think first before acting? Don't they think about the passengers, like how they will get affected and delayed when something like that happens?

E. People standing directly in front (center) of the train doors
These people also do annoy me. SMRT has always pasted drawings and cartoons about getting injured by standing directly in front of the train doors so that they can get into the trains first when the doors opened. I remember this comic drawing of this woman who stood in front of the train doors, refusing to move to the sides. When the commuters rushed out of the trains, she got stepped by them. Didn't the passengers wondered if this would happen if they stood in front of the train doors? By standing in front of the train doors, they are also causing inconvenience to the commuters who wanted to alight. Imagining having to avoid bumping into whoever who was standing in front of the doors.

F. People who do not move in towards the train
These type of people also lack a sense of consideration. During peak hours, there have always been cases of a lot of people who wanted to board the train. I felt that the passengers in the train should move in towards the center of the train so that more passengers could board the train. They should not be selfish and develop this mindset that they will also be people who will move in, why should I move in? By standing near the doors, they are blocking the entrance to allow passengers to board the train, resulting the passengers having the need to wait for the next train.

I know that my thinking may really be biased but I really hope that people who commit these acts can realise their own mistakes and stop now. I'm aware by the fact that not many people do read my blog but I still hope that at least a small group of people can understand how I feel about these inconsiderate people...:))
